Mostly Dry, Warm Weekend Ahead For Chicago Area
An elevated fire weather risk is possible on Sunday.
ILLINOIS — Storms and rain will kick off the day on Friday for some of the Chicago area, but the weekend is expected to be mostly dry, according to the National Weather Service.
The high for Friday is 74, and isolated to widely scattered storms are possible Friday morning for areas west and southwest of Chicago. No severe weather is expected, the weather service said.
There is also a chance of showers and storms on Saturday night, for areas north of Interstate 80.

"...Dry weather is expected with above normal temperatures," the weather service said on its Facebook. "An elevated fire danger is likely on Sunday due to the combination of gusty winds and dry conditions."
The high for Saturday is 85, and the high for Sunday is 77 degrees.

Next week, dry weather looks to continue, with temperatures near the 70s. Monday will have a high of 67 and Tuesday a high of 70, according to the current forecast.
