Near-100 Degree Temps For 1st Day Of Summer: Illinois Weather

The hottest day will be Tuesday — the first day of summer — but expect sunshine and high temperatures all week.

Illinois — After a sunny and warm Father's Day weekend, temperatures will soar back into the 90s, reaching nearly 100 degrees by Tuesday, according to AccuWeather.

Monday will bring a high of 93 degrees before the summer solstice arrives at 4:13 a.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday is when the hottest temperatures will arrive, with highs between 97 and 99 degrees, but residents should also expect breezy weather.

Very warm to hot weather is expected all week, though humidity is not expected to be nearly as high as last week, the National Weather Service said.

On Wednesday, the high will drop to 88 to 93 degrees, with cooler weather near the lake, and Thursday brings highs of 86 to 90 degrees.

There are no significant chances for rain or storms expected until a slight chance of storms Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
