Nurses Bond Out Dad Arrested After Rushing His Baby To Hospital
A group of nurses came together for a father who was arrested for breaking traffic laws while rushing his choking daughter to the hospital.
CENTREVILLE, IL — An Illinois father said a group of nurses paid to bond him out of jail after he was arrested for breaking traffic laws while speeding to a local hospital to save his choking daughter. According to KTVI in St. Louis, Darius Hinkle doesn't have a valid driver's license but was rushing to the hospital Thursday because his 1-year-old daughter was choking on a penny.
Hinkle said when he got to the hospital, several police officers from different agencies were behind him, and he was taken into custody, according to the news report.
The baby's mother said she arrived at the jail and saw a woman she didn't recognize trying to bond Hinkle out, KTVI reported. She learned a group of nurses that work at Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville chipped in money to secure Hinkle's release.
