Pilot Killed In Fiery IL Plane Crash: Reports
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
MOUNT MORRIS, IL — A pilot died Tuesday in a fiery crash in Ogle County, according to reports.
The Cessna 188 crashed around 9:30 a.m. near the Ogle County Airport in Mount Morris, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, which said that only the pilot was on board.
The aircraft was a crop duster, which sheriff’s deputies found fully engulfed in flames after it hit multiple power lines, causing hundreds to lose electricity, WIFR reported.
