Persistent Storms, Heat Set To Return During 4th Of July Week In IL

The weather service said that chances for showers and storms increase starting Tuesday and could continue through Friday.

ILLINOIS — Seasonably cool temperatures will bring in July, before the warmth and increasing humidity returns, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will have a high of 78, and should be dry and sunny all day.

The weather service said that chances for showers and storms return early Tuesday and will persist through Friday, although there will be dry hours in between.

Tuesday will have a high of 86, Wednesday a high of 89, Thursday a high of 83 and Friday a high of 84.

The best chance of storms will be Tuesday night into early Wednesday, the weather service said. There is a level 1 of 5 severe storm risk for both Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the current forecast.
