Pleasant, Sunny Days Expected Through The Weekend: IL Weather

ILLINOIS — A few days of dry and pleasant weather are in store for the Chicago area, after a derecho, including 19 confirmed tornadoes, tore through the area on Monday night.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday all look to be mostly sunny, according to the weather service.

Dangerous swim conditions are also possible on Thursday, with high waves of 4 to 7 feet possible, and life-threatening waves and currents. Those visiting Illinois and northwest Indiana beaches on Lake Michigan should stay out of the water, the weather service said.

"Highs will generally be in the mid-upper 70s to lower 80s, with daily lake breezes keeping Lake Michigan shore areas a little cooler," the weather service said on its Facebook.
