More Rain On The Way, Pleasant Temps For Chicago Area
Temperatures will feature highs in the 70s as we approach the end of September.

ILLINOIS — After some much-needed rain on Sunday, rain is expected to return late Monday into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday also marked the Autumnal Equinox and the first day of astronomical autumn. The length of daylight and night is nearly equal, the weather service said. Sept. 25 will have 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night.
This week, temperatures will feature highs in the 70s as we approach the end of September. Monday will have a high of 72, Tuesday a high of 71, Wednesday a high of 76, Thursday a high of 78 and Friday a high of 76.

The weather service said there is also a chance of thunderstorms and rain starting Monday night into Tuesday. Locally heavy rain is possible, especially Tuesday morning.
"While not everyone will see heavy rain, the locations that do could see totals over an inch," the weather service said on its Facebook.

The intensity of the rain will then decrease late Tuesday afternoon.
Dry weather, sunshine and mild temps are then expected on Wednesday and Thursday. The next chance of rain then looks to be Friday night into Saturday, according to the current forecast.
