Police Shoot Customer Who Stabbed Worker At Toyota Dealership: Authorities
The customer became upset, brandished a knife and attacked workers, one of whom was stabbed in an extremity, according to police.
DeKALB, IL — DeKalb police shot a customer at a local Toyota dealership after he stabbed an employee, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, when officers responded to a 911 call from the dealership in the 1800 block of Sycamore Road, where a patron became upset, brandished a knife and attacked workers, one of whom was stabbed in an extremity, according to police.
Officers confronted the assailant, who refused to drop the knife and instead advanced, at which point police shot him, authorities said.

The customer was flown to a hospital in Rockford and was expected to survive, according to police, who said the employee who was stabbed was treated at the scene for a wound that was not life-threatening.
State police are conducting an independent probe of the officer-involved shooting, as is standard protocol, authorities said.
