Severe Storms With Hail, Damaging Winds Possible For Chicago Area
There is a chance of storms Tuesday afternoon into the early evening for areas across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana.
ILLINOIS — Severe storms are possible Tuesday afternoon, with damaging winds and hail possible between 3 and 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Rain is possible Tuesday morning into the afternoon for areas south of Interstate 80, the weather service said. Then, there is a chance of storms Tuesday afternoon into the early evening for areas across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana.
Some of these afternoon storms could be strong to severe, and bring damaging wind gusts and hail up to 1 inch in diameter, according to the weather service.

A cold front will move across the area after storms, and will bring cooler temperatures, with highs in the 50s on Wednesday. An "unsettled" pattern is also expected to end the week, according to the weather service.
Wednesday will have a high of 55, Thursday a high of 63, and Friday a high of 68. Storms are possible on Friday and into Saturday, according to the weather service forecast.
