Severe Storms Possible Friday, Before Weather Dries Out For Weekend
Storms will become more widespread on Friday evening and overnight.
ILLINOIS — A stormy Friday evening is possible, before a hot Saturday and a cooler Sunday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
Friday will have a high of 85, with periods of showers in the morning and the afternoon, the weather service said. Then, storms will become more widespread on Friday evening and overnight.
"The primary threat with any severe storm will be damaging winds, but some hail is also possible," the weather service said.

Saturday will be warmer with a high of 88 degrees, and there is a possibility of strong to severe storms early Saturday, according to the weather service.
"Drier and cooler conditions" will close out the weekend on Sunday, which has a high of 75. Dangerous swimming conditions are expected on Sunday for most of the Illinois and Indiana beaches, the weather service said.

Temps will remain cooler on Monday, which will have a high of 78, before things start to heat back to the upper 80s.
