Snow, Rain On Friday, Mild Weather This Weekend For Chicago Area

We could see a high of 70 degrees for the start of the work week.

ILLINOIS — "Sloppy weather" is in store for Friday, before warmer temperatures return this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday will have a high of 42, and rain and snow is expected throughout the day. The weather service said the rain/snow mix may change to all snow for a time, and could have some localized slushy snow accumulations.

However, little or no accumulation is expected for most areas.

The weekend looks to be dry and sunny, with a high of 47 on Saturday and a high of 56 on Sunday. Monday will be even warmer with a high of 65 degrees.

"Most areas will continue to be unseasonably mild Tuesday, though a lake-enhanced cold front will send temps crashing near the lake," the weather service said on its Facebook.

Tuesday will have a high of 70, and Wednesday a high of 68, although highs in the 40s are possible near the lakeshore, according to the current forecast.
