Snow Chance Saturday, Temps Moderate Into Next Week For Illinois

Highs of 40 degrees are expected Monday and Tuesday.

ILLINOIS — Cold temperatures will start the day on Friday, before temps moderate through early next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind chills of 15 below zero are possible through mid-Friday morning, the weather service said. The high for the day is 22 degrees.

"Aside from a brief cool-down on Sunday milder weather is in store Saturday into next week," the weather service said on its Facebook page.

Temps will reach highs into the 40s by Monday, with a high of 37 on Saturday, 29 on Sunday, 42 on Monday and 42 on Tuesday.

There is also a chance of light snow/flurries Friday night into Saturday morning, mainly for areas south of Interstate 80. Accumulations could be between a dusting and 2 inches of snow. Besides that, dry conditions are expected through early next week, according to the weather service.
