Snow Could Accumulate After Rainy Week: Illinois Weather
Snow could start Thursday night into Friday, with possible snow squalls severely limiting visibility for drivers.
CHICAGO — Just when Chicago area residents were warming up to the idea that spring has ushered in more pleasant weather and that it’s safe to put winter in the rearview mirror, it turns out, snow may be making yet another late-season appearance.
After three wet days filled with dreary, "dismal" and cold conditions, the National Weather Service is predicting that some areas of the region could see snow overnight Thursday and into Friday. Forecasters predict that some wet snowflakes could mix in with rainy conditions in the overnight hours when temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-30s.
Snow could remain in the area Friday when some areas could see some snow squalls that will severely limit visibility and could even leave some accumulating snow on grassy areas, forecasters predict. The sun may peek out at times as temperatures will remain in the low to mid-40s throughout the day before the air turns cold again in the overnight hours into Saturday.
