Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain Could Impact Travel On Saturday For IL

ILLINOIS — A mix of light snow, sleet and freezing rain could cause slippery travel conditions on Saturday across the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.
The wintry mix will develop from the southwest on Saturday morning, the weather service said. A glaze of ice to up to .1 inches of ice accumulation is possible, as well as a dusting to .2 inches of snow.
"Temperatures may rise above freezing during the afternoon south of a Pontiac to Rensselaer line, changing precipitation to rain and lessening travel impacts there," the weather service said on its Facebook page.

All precipitation should end by early evening, although impacts could linger into Saturday night with slippery sidewalks and parking lots, the weather service said.
The high for Saturday is 36 degrees, and the high for Sunday is 32. The weather service said that besides the precipitation on Saturday; dry and seasonable weather is expected into early next week.
