Spring Storm Brings Rain, Snow To Chicago Area

ILLINOIS — A spring storm system will move through the area on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing rain, thunderstorms, falling temperatures, winds and even snow showers, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service said rain amounts could be between 1 to locally 2 inches.

The storm will bring waves of showers and embedded thunderstorms on Tuesday and through Wednesday morning, according to the weather service.

Wednesday afternoon and evening will bring falling temperatures and possible snow showers, the weather service said. Winds up to 45 mph are also possible on Wednesday.

Fall temperatures and snow on Wednesday afternoon could lead to slick spots on untreated roads as well, the weather service said.

Thursday will be sunny with a high of 43, but rain and snow chances return late Thursday into Friday, according to the weather service. Friday has a high of 41, and a chance of snow throughout the day.
