Stormy Friday Before Pleasant Labor Day Weekend In IL
For those boating or swimming on Lake Michigan, dangerous swim and boating conditions are expected this weekend.
ILLINOIS — Showers and storms are possible late Thursday into Friday ahead of a cold front, according to the National Weather Service. After the cold front passes through, a dry and pleasant Labor Day weekend is expected.
Thursday will have a high of 88, and Friday a high of 90. It will be humid both days, with a level 1 of 5 severe storm risk on Friday, according to the weather service.
Storm chances will increase overnight into Friday, and continue through the day on Friday.

Labor Day weekend will be dry, with a high of 84 on Saturday, 83 on Sunday and 76 on Monday.
However, for those planning on swimming or boating on Lake Michigan, the weather service said conditions will be dangerous. There will be high waves and hazardous boating conditions at southern Lake Michigan beaches starting on Sunday and continuing Monday.
