Stormy, Hot Monday Before Cold Front Brings Cooler, Dry Weather For IL

ILLINOIS — After one more day of storms, and hot and humid weather, a pattern change bringing cooler weather is on the way, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service said there will be several windows for rain and storms on Monday; from 5 to 10 a.m., 3 to 11 p.m., and 3 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

"While storm coverage will not be widespread, a few of the storms that develop may be severe with damaging winds and hail," the weather service said on Facebook.

Monday will also be hot and humid, with a high of 91 degrees for areas southeast of Interstate 90.

A cold front slowing moving across the area will cause a pattern change starting on Tuesday, according to the weather service.

Cooler, less humid and dry conditions are expected Tuesday and for the rest of the week.

Tuesday will have a high of 80 for areas north of Interstate 80, a high of 80 on Wednesday, 82 on Thursday and 82 on Friday, according to the weather service forecast.
