60-Degree Temps Possible Friday, Wind Gusts Of 50 MPH For Chicago Area

The weather service has issued a wind advisory on Friday for most of the Chicago area.

ILLINOIS — Friday could bring highs above 60 degrees for the Chicago area, as well as gusts up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service has issued a wind advisory on Friday including La Salle, Kendall, Grundy, Kankakee, Livingston, Cook, DuPage, McHenry, Lake, and Will counties. The advisory states that winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts of 45 to 50 mph.

In addition to the wind advisory, the weather service said there is also a heightened fire danger on Friday afternoon due to the winds, low relative humidities and mild temperatures.

The high for Friday is 64 degrees, however, a cold front will bring "sharply colder and more seasonable weather" Friday night and into the weekend, the weather service said on its Facebook.

Saturday will have a high of 35 and Sunday a high of 41 degrees.

There is a slight chance of rain or light snow showers on Friday night, but besides that, dry weather is expected through Sunday, according to the weather service.

Temperatures will warm back into the 40s for the start of the work week on Monday.
