Tornado Watch Canceled For All Of Illinois

Metra also halted all trains on the BNSF line due to severe weather.

ILLINOIS — Tornado warnings have expired in northern Illinois, and a tornado watch previously in effect until 11 p.m. for the entire Chicago area has also ended, the National Weather Service said.

Just before 7 p.m., Metra announced all inbound and outbound trains on the BNSF line were halted due to severe weather. Metra also cited a tree on the tracks near Riverside and Congress Park.
