-20 Wind Chills: Cold Temps Return To Chicago Area
"Temperatures will tumble" on Wednesday, bring a sharp cold blast of air.
ILLINOIS — Enjoy the mild weather at the start of the week, before January-like cold hits the area Wednesday night and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The week will start with a high of 54 on Monday, which will be the warmest day of the week. Temps will drop on Tuesday, which will still have a high of 36, according to the current forecast.
Then, "temperatures will tumble," the weather service said. Wednesday has a high of 29, although wind chills will be 10 degrees. The coldest weather is expected Wednesday night, when we could see wind chills of 20 below zero, according to the weather service.

Thursday will see a high of 18 degrees, with wind chills as low as 10 below zero. Temps will get slightly warmer again on Friday, which has a high of 35, according to the current forecast.
The week should be mostly dry, with a chance of flurries or "wind-whipped snow showers" on Wednesday. There is also a chance of snow late Friday, according to the weather service.
