1 Teen Dead, 2 Injured In Carpentersville Shooting: Police
A 17-year-old teen was killed after police said he was shot in the head after he and two others were sitting inside a vehicle on Robin Road.
CARPENTERSVILLE, IL — A teenager is dead and two other people were injured Wednesday night in a shooting that took place on Carpentersville’s east side, police said.
Police were called to the 0-100 block of Birch Street at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday after the department received reports that shots had been fired in the area. Officers arrived to find a 17-year-old boy lying in the road with a gunshot wound to the head, police said on Thursday.
Police said that two other gunshot victims were found nearby but that the injuries they had sustained were non-life-threatening.

All three of the victims were taken to local hospitals, where the 17-year-old was pronounced dead.
Police said that an investigation shows that the three people were inside a car parked on Robin Road when they were shot. The car was then driven to Birch Street, where police found the victims, police said in the news release.

No one is in custody and police said that they are continuing to investigate the incident with the assistance of the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force.
