2 Dogs Die In Algonquin Townhome Blaze

The blaze broke out at a townhome in the 0 to 100 block of Cedar Grove Court at about noon on Thursday.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Despite life-saving efforts, two dogs died in a house fire in Algonquin on Thanksgiving.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was called to the blaze in the 0 to 100 block of Cedar Grove Court at about noon on Thursday where firefighters found a large amount of smoke coming from inside a townhome, Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District Deputy Chief John Knebl told Shaw Local News Network.

Everyone was able to get out of the home before fire crews arrived except for two dogs. Firefighters removed the dogs from the home and attempted to resuscitate the animals but were unable to do so, according to the article.
