Howland listed strengthening the middle class, protecting social security, making college more affordable, supporting civil rights, reforming the Affordable Care Act and environmental protection as as the key issues in her campaign.

Roskam wants the Affordable Care Act completely repealed, corporate taxes cut and the tax code simplified, and, according to his campaign website, “long-term strategy to combat the spread of radical Islamic extremism.”

The site also says Roskam “is unapologetically pro-life and consistently ranks among Congress’s strongest advocates for the unborn.”

The 6th Congressional District represents areas of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake and McHenry counties, including all or sections of Algonquin, Barrington, Carol Stream, Cary, Downers Grove, Gilberts, Glen Ellyn, Hoffman Estates, Lake in the Hills, Lake Zurich, Palatine, South Elgin, West Chicago, West Dundee, Westmont and Wheaton.
