Algonquin Man Gets 18 Years For Criminal Sexual Assault Of Child
Robert J. Libricz will have to register as a lifetime sex offender once released from custody, according to state's attorney's office.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — McHenry County State's Attorney Patrick D. Kenneally announced Friday, Feb. 8 an Algonquin man has been sentenced to 18 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. According to a release, the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office reported Robert J. Libricz committed several acts of sexual penetration and abuse against a female child between 1989 and 1998, during a time when the minor was under 13 and under 18 years old. McHenry County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Michelle Asplund led the investigation into Libricz, and Assistant State's Attorneys Sharyl Eisenstein and Victor Escarcida prosecuted the case, according to a release.
The McHenry County State's Attorney's Office said Libricz was sentenced for the following:
- Five years on one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse
- 12 years on one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault
- 12 years on one count of predatory criminal sexual assault
- 18 years on an additional count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child
- Five and eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on two counts of criminal sexual assault
Libricz will serve the sentences simultaneously due to legislation that existed at the time of his offenses, according to a release. However, officials said Libricz will have to register as a lifetime sex offender once released.
