Algonquin Waste And Tree Pickup Schedule

ALGONQUIN, IL — The Village of Algonquin reminds residents that waste and recycling collection from Groot services will be delayed by one day due to the holidays, pushing Thursday customers' collection to Friday (Dec. 27), and Friday customers' collection to Saturday (Dec. 28). According to the Village, Groot will also collect Christmas trees at no charge throughout January. If you'd like your tree(s) collected, place them at the curb on your scheduled collection day no later than 7 a.m., the Village said. The Village also notes:

• All decorations should be removed from trees and should not be placed in bags.
• Trees greater than 6 feet in height must be cut in half before being set out for collection.
