LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A candidate for the Lake in the Hills village president has been booted from the race.

Abhishek (Jay) Gulati filed nominating papers to run against incumbent Village President Ray Bogdanowski, who is seeking a second term, but claims arose over how many valid signatures Galati obtained to be placed on the ballot, according to Shaw Local News Network. Maureen Huff, of Lake in the Hills, also filed an objection challenging information on his nominating papers, including the lack of an election date on his statement of candidacy and the description of office sought being written as "president" and not "village president."

She also claimed he had the incorrect election date, or no election date, on most petition forms, according to the article.
