Cat Dies In House Fire; 2 Dogs, Snake Rescued From The Blaze
The house fire happened in West Dundee Thursday night.
WEST DUNDEE, IL — A cat died in a house fire in West Dundee Thursday night but firefighters were able to rescue two dogs and a snake from the blaze.
The West Dundee Fire Department responded to the blaze in the 600 block of South 7th Street at about 9:15 p.m. where firefighters found flames coming from the roof of the home, according to a news release from the fire department.
All residents were able to safely get out of the home before firefighters arrived at the scene. Two firefighters sustained minor injuries in the blaze, and the fire caused more than $200,000 in damage to the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
