The McHenry County State's Attorney's office said 24-year-old Joshua Dancy will also have to register as a sex offender for life.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A Crystal Lake man was found guilty of soliciting and possessing child pornography and several charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse following a negotiated plea before a McHenry County judge, McHenry County State's Attorney Patrick D. Kenneally announced, according to a news release from the state's attorney's office. Joshua Dancy, 24, was sentenced to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and will have to register as a sex offender for life, according to the news release.
In May 2019, members of the Crystal Lake Police Department started investigating allegations of aggravated sexual abuse involving Dancy with two minors, the news release said. The reported abuse is said to have taken place months before, officials added. However, a search of Dancy's phone led police to discover two more victims, and images and videos of child pornography, according to the news release.
This case was investigated by Detective Mattson and other members of the Crystal Lake Police Department, and was prosecuted by Susanne Groebner of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, according to the news release.
