Early Voting Starts Thursday: What Algonquin, LITH Voters Need To Know
It's officially Election season. Here's what you need to know about voting early in McHenry County.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The Election season is officially upon us.
Early voting opens Thursday in McHenry County and across the Chicago area, and Election Day is set for Nov. 5. For those looking to cast their ballot early, here is what you need to know about where to go and when polls will be open.
And unlike on Election Day, when you must go to your designated polling place, all ballot styles for McHenry County are available at all early voting centers and voters may choose to vote at the site that is most convenient for them, according to county official.

Starting on Sept. 26, voting will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday at the McHenry County Election Center, 410 S. Eastwood Drive in Woodstock. The election center will be closed on Columbus Day, which is Oct. 14.
Beginning on October 21, all early voting centers will open in McHenry County. The voting centers listed below will be open during the following hours: From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 to 25; from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Oct. 26; from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 28 through Nov. 1; 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 3; and from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 4.

- McHENRY COUNTY ELECTION CENTER, 410 S. Eastwood Drive, Woodstock (Main Entrance). A 24/7 dropbox is available at 667 Ware Road in Woodstock.
- ALGONQUIN TOWNSHIP OFFICE, 3702 US Highway 14, Crystal Lake (Garage Entrance). A dropbox is available inside the voting room.
- CRYSTAL LAKE PUBLIC LIBRARY, 126 Paddock St., Crystal Lake (Main Entrance). A dropbox is available inside the voting room.
- McHENRY TOWNSHIP OFFICE, 3703 N. Richmond Road, Johnsburg (Main Entrance). A dropbox is available inside the voting room.
- LAKE IN THE HILLS VILLAGE HALL, 600 Harvest Gate, Lake in the Hills (Main Entrance). A dropbox is available inside the voting room.
- McHENRY CITY HALL, 333 S. Green St., McHenry (City Council entrance).
- NUNDA TOWNSHIP OFFICE, 3510 Bay Rd., Crystal Lake (Downstairs Entrance)
- EARLY VOTING WILL BE CONDUCTED DURING THE FOLLOWING HOURS:
Additional earning voting centers listed below will be open on the following dates and times: from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 through Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Oct. 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 through Nov. 1, and from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 2.

- CARY AREA LIBRARY, 1606 Three Oaks Rd., Cary (main entrance)
- ALGONQUIN LIBRARY, 2600 Harnish Dr., Algonquin (main entrance)
Two additional early voting sites will be open during the following dates and times: from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 through Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 through Nov. 1 and from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 2.

Registering to vote
Not sure if you’re registered to vote, or need to change your address? You can find out here.If you’re not registered, you have until Oct. 8 to register by mail and Oct. 20 to register to vote online. You can also register in person on Election Day.
To register by mail, download and print the Illinois Voter Registration Application and send the completed form to your county clerk or Board of Election commissioner.
If you want to register in person, you can do so at driver’s license facilities, your county clerk’s office, city or village offices, township offices or public libraries.
If you register to vote in person, you’ll need two forms of ID, and at least one must show your current address.
McHenry County registered voters who do not have a voter’s registration card or who have a question regarding their registration, should contact the County Clerk’s Office at: 815-334-4242.
You can register to vote in person at the Office of McHenry County Clerk McHenry County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Suite 107 ,Woodstock between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. You can also register to vote online through the Illinois Board of Elections and register to vote by mail by filling out this voter registration form.
