MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally announced in a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's office that Charles N. Hall, 35, from Elgin, was sentenced Thursday to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Hall was sentenced by McHenry County Judge Wilbrandt following a negotiated guilty plea to felony residential burglary, according to the state's attorney's office.

Hall's sentence stems from an incident on Christmas day 2018, when members of the Algonquin Police Department were called to a burglary at a home at the time the resident was gone, according to the state's attorney's office. An exam of the scene led to the discovery of DNA evidence matching the DNA on file for Hall.
