Homicide Investigation Underway After Woman Found Dead In Boyfriend's Lindenhurst Home

A missing woman from Algonquin was found killed inside her boyfriend’s house in Lindenhurst, just one day after her boyfriend died in a crash, police said.
The Algonquin Police Department recently began investigating a case involving a 25-year-old woman who went missing, according to Lake County Major Crime Task Force Spokesman Christopher Covelli.

The woman’s family on Monday reported her missing after becoming aware that her boyfriend was involved in a head-on crash in the area of Bates Road and Freeport Road near Rockton in Winnebago County.
The 25-year-old boyfriend and the other driver in the crash were both killed but the woman was not in her boyfriend’s vehicle, Covelli said.

She was last seen leaving her Algonquin residence on Yosemite Parkway on Sunday.
The family reported that the woman was believed to have gone to her boyfriend’s residence in the 0-100 block of Beck Road in Lindenhurst, Covelli said.

The woman’s vehicle was found in the driveway of her boyfriend’s home on Beck Road and Algonquin police officers obtained a search warrant to search the residence.
Algonquin police officers and Lindenhurst police officers entered the residence around 4 p.m. Tuesday and found the woman deceased.
The woman appears to have sustained significant blunt force trauma, Covelli said.
Due to the nature of the incident, the Lindenhurst Police Department requested the assistance of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and is in the process of scheduling an autopsy.
Lindenhurst detectives, Algonquin detectives, and Major Crime Task Force investigators continue to actively investigate the incident.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community,” Covelli said.
