Investigation Underway In Longview Drive Barn Fire: ALFPD
According to fire officials, crews were faced with water supply issues after arriving to the scene where a large barn was on fire.

ALGONQUIN, IL — The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District said on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. crews were called to a possible barn fire at 1633 Longview Drive. When crews arrived to the scene six minutes later, the department said they found a large barn on fire. According to fire officials, crews initially had trouble getting to the scene due to icy road conditions, but decided on a defensive (outside) attack when they arrived.
Crews were faced with water issues since the barn being in a rural area with no fire hydrants available, officials said, adding that water tankers were called to help with the water supply. Nearly four hours later, the fire was extinguished, with no reports of civilian or firefighter injuries. However, the department said the cause of the fire is under investigation and a damage estimate is not yet available.
