Kane County Forest Preserve Hosts 'Firefly Fireworks' Thursday

The program will be held tonight.

Ever wondered how a glow worm glows, or why a lightning bug lights, or if a firefly light is hot to the touch?

Learn the answers and more as you explore the fascinating world of brilliant bugs during the Forest Preserve District of Kane County’s “Firefly Fireworks” program. Lightning bugs and glow worms are not only beautiful when lit up, but they’re also an important part of the prairie ecosystem. The walk will start at dusk. See the nighttime magic begin as thousands of fireflies rise from the prairie.

The program is offered Thursday, July 7, from 8-9 p.m. at Campton Forest Preserve, 4N379 Town Hall Rd., Saint Charles.
