Lake In The Hills Considers Allowing Non-Residents Beach Access

Village officials are considering opening Butch Hagele and Indian Trail beaches to non-residents.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — After more than 700 residents were turned away from visiting the beaches in Lake in the Hills last summer, village officials are considering opening Butch Hagele and Indian Trail beaches to non-residents.

Shaw Local News Network is reporting the move could generate between $3,000 and $6,000 in additional revenue for the village, village officials said. Currently, non-residents can only visit the beach if they're going with someone who lives in Lake in the Hills.

Village officials are considering two other options for the beaches, including keeping the status quo with some adjustments and keeping Butch Haggle Beach resident-only but opening Indian Trail Beach to non-residents who pay a fee.
