Lake In The Hills Man Charged In Harvest Gate Barricade Situation
Garrett C. Kowalczyk, 27, of Lake in the Hills, was arrested Friday after police accused him of threatening officers in this area.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The Lake in the Hills Police Department said a 27-year-old man is in jail and is facing several charges after being accused of threatening officers late Friday afternoon during a barricade situation in the 100 block of Harvest Gate. According to police, authorities asked residents to avoid the area after police were called to that at 4:07 p.m. Feb. 8 in reference to a report of an intoxicated male. That's where police said they made contact with Garrett C. Kowalczyk, of Lake in the Hills.
According to police, Kowalczyk threatened officers with a weapon that was not shown, before going back into the residence. Officers secured the home and requested the assistance of the McHenry County SWAT Team, police said, adding that no one else was inside and no guns were discovered.
Police said Kowalczyk was taken into custody at 10 p.m., and on Monday was transferred to the McHenry County Jail.

According to police, Kowalczyk has been charged with threatening a public official, aggravated assault, two counts of resisting or obstructing a peace officer, and four counts of criminal damage to property.
