Lake In The Hills Man Charged With Possession Of Child Porn

PALATINE, IL — A Lake in the Hills man has been arrested on a possession of child pornography charge following a probe by federal and local police.
Konrad Skora, 31, of the 5500 block of Alexandria Drive in Lake in the Hills, was arrested in June 2025 following the joint investigation by the Palatine Police Department and federal authorities, according to a news release from the Palatine Police Department.
Police first launched the investigation in March 2025 after uncovering evidence from a hard drive that was previously in the possession of a former Palatine resident. The device contained several files that had child sexual abuse material — some of which depicted victims under the age of 13 years old, according to a news release.

Skora was identified as the person who was responsible for possessing the device and the illicit material. He was taken into custody on June 30, 2025, according to the news release.
Skora haw been charged with possession of child pornography, which is a Class 2 felony, on July 1, 2025. He was taken to the Cook County Courthouse for a detention hearing and ordered detained during a July 25, 2025, hearing.

Following the investigation, police urged the public to report any suspected abuse.
"The Palatine Police Department remains committed to protecting vulnerable populations and working with our law enforcement partners to investigate and prosecute crimes involving child exploitation. We encourage anyone who may be a victim of abuse, or who suspects abuse, to come forward," according to a news release from Palatine police.
