'Lock It Up': LITH Police Share Video Catching Car Entry Attempts

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The Lake in the Hills Police Department is reminding everyone to keep their car doors locked and their car windows up after two recent incidents. According to police, the same person was seen during both incidents trying to open car doors in the area of Lakewood and Albrecht Roads. Police added that these two separate incidents took place in the morning hours.

While no thefts have been reported at this time, police ask that if you see something suspicious, call them immediately.

Police also remind everyone to:

Lock it up! Keep car doors locked and windows up.

Do not leave purses or other valuables in plain view.

If you have a garage, use it and lock the garage.

Avoid parking in isolated areas. Try to park in well-lit and well-traveled areas.

Report any suspicious persons or activity immediately.
