Man Sentenced To 8 Years For Injuring Officer: Police

WEST DUNDEE, IL — A Sycamore man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for pushing and injuring a police officer, authorities said.

Tylor Z. Hyde, 28, of the 100 block of South Main Street, was convicted in March of aggravated battery, aggravated assault of a peace officer and resisting or obstructing a peace officer causing injury in connection with the Feb. 3, 2022, attack.

Police say they were called to an extended stay hotel in West Dundee where they found Hyde, who they determined was involved with a domestic disturbance, according to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office. He became aggressive with officers and told them he was armed with a weapon.

Hyde swung his arm at a West Dundee Police Department officer, and when officers attempted to arrest him, he continued to be uncooperative. As officers were trying to handcuff him, Hyde intentionally shoved into the same officer he previously tried to hit, injuring him, according to a news release.
