Man Wanted On Felony Warrant Barricaded In Holiday Inn: Police
Algonquin police are asking residents to avoid the area of the Holiday Inn Express on Bunker Hill Drive as the man won't leave his room.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Police are asking residents to avoid the area surrounding a Holiday Inn Express Wednesday afternoon after a man wanted on a felony arrest warrant has isolated himself inside a room, police said.
According to a statement from Algonquin police, officers responded to the hotel at 2595 Bunker Hill Drive after receiving a report of "suspicious activity" at around 10:53 a.m. When they arrived, officers discovered a guest staying in the hotel had a felony arrest warrant out for him.
Police declined to say the name of the man.

Officials said officers tried to talk to the man, but the man refused to open the door of his hotel room and "indicated that he would resist officer's attempts to take him into custody."
As of 1 p.m., police were still unsure if the man was armed or not.

Administrators from nearby Harry D. Jacobs High School told Patch they were aware of the incident, but would not say if the school was going into lockdown.
Police said the scene is secured and that there is no immediate threat to the public, but did not provide additional details on how they determined the safety level.
