McHenry County Conservation District Sponsors Photography Contest
Local nature lovers can submit photos in four categories of images taken from the county's more than 25,000 acres of natural open spaces.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — McHenry County nature lovers who also have a knack for taking photographs are invited to enter a contest being sponsored by the county’s conservation district.
Residents are invited to submit their photos of nature found within McHenry County’s more than 25,000 acres of open spaces as part of the contest. The Instagram photo contest being run in conjunction with the McHenry County Conservation District will judge photos in four different categories.
The categories include Sight (#MCCDSight), Sound (#MCCDSound), Touch (#MCCDTouch) and Smell (#MCCDSmell).

Local residents are permitted to enter three photos per category and the finalists will have their photos submitted to the McHenry County Conservation District’s Facebook page during the final week of August.
The photo with the most Facebook likes will be determined to be the winner. The photo contest begins on Wednesday and will run through Aug. 19, which is World Photography Day. Residents who submit photos must follow the county conservation district’s Instagram account to be eligible to win.
