More Early Voting Sites Open In Algonquin, LITH
Early voting locations, how to register and how to vote by mail.

ALGONQUIN AND LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — With Election Day just weeks away, more early voting sites will be opening Monday in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills and across the Chicago area.
You can cast your ballot early or wait to vote at your polling place on Election Day. We've included all the information you need to know if you are planning to cast your ballot this presidential election.

Registering to Vote
Not sure if you're already registered to vote? You can find out here. An Illinois resident may register to vote in Illinois if he or she is 18 years or older on the next Election Day, has resided in the jurisdiction for more than 30 days prior to the election and is a U.S. citizen. Beginning Monday, more early voting location will open up in McHenry County.

With just two weeks to go until Election Day, voters can choose to cast their ballot now or wait until Nov. 5. Here is a look at some of the early voting locations close to home:

You can visit the McHenry County Clerk's Office to find the full list of early voting locations and for information for requesting an absentee ballot. Voters who request a “Vote by Mail” ballot and choose to vote in person, may go to the polls and surrender the “Vote by Mail” ballot.

- Where to vote: Find your Election Day polling place here or here
- If you've voted in Illinois before, you don't need to provide ID to vote
- If you're a first-time voter who registered by mail and didn't provide your driver's license number, state ID number, last 4 digits of your Social Security number or a copy of a current ID or government document that shows your name and address when you registered, you'll need to provide one of these when you vote. You will be required to provide one of the following:
- a copy of a current and valid photo identification
- a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, student ID and either a residential contract/lease or any postmarked mail delivered to your current residence address, or other government document that shows your name and addres
