Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Algonquin Collision: Authorities

Police say a 19-year-old man was seriously injured when an SUV pulled out into the roadway and struck his motorcycle in Algonquin Wednesday afternoon.
The Algonquin Police Department and Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District responded around 12:09 p.m. Wednesday to Randall Road and County Line Road for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.

Algonquin Police Department Sgt. Jason Burzynski told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that officers arrived and located the crash east of the intersection.
An initial investigation showed a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on County Line Road.

The motorcycle, driven by a 19-year-old Crystal Lake man, collided with a Jeep.
The Jeep, driven by a 43-year-old Crystal Lake woman, was attempting to make a turn from an access road onto County Line Road, Burzynski said.
The 43-year-old woman was transported to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital.
The 19-year-old man was transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin with serious injuries.
Burzynski said it was unknown whether his injuries were life-threatening or not.
The Algonquin Police Department Accident Investigation Unit responded to investigate the crash.
The roadway was shut down to traffic in both directions for just over two hours.
The crash is still under active investigation, Burzynski said.
