National Night Out Community Cookout With LITH Police, More
Details on the Aug. 10 free event for all community members.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The Lake in the Hills Police Department invites community members to the free National Night Out Community Cookout Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Irv Floress Safety Education Center, 1109 Crystal Lake Road. From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m, community members can take part in police station tours, check out the Flight for Life helicopter up close watch a live K9 demo by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, visit with the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, meet "PC" the Patrol Car Robot, and enjoy a free hot dog thanks to the police department, according to a release from the Village.
Attendees will also be able to see and touch police and fire vehicles, try on a pair of fatal vision impairment goggles, try out the police simulation trailer (containing non-lethal training marking cartridges), visit with the department's tactical bike and traffic units, and more, according to a release.
Police encourage community members to come celebrate together and show "that we stand strong together as a community and against crime," the release said.

- 1st LITH Police Department tour: 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Flight for Life landing: 12 p.m.
- 2nd LITH Police Department tour: 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
- Flight for Life takeoff: 1 p.m.
- MCSO K9 demo: 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
