Pedestrian Hit By Multiple Vehicles, Killed In Kane County Crash

The collision happened on Route 31 at Miller Road south of Algonquin Monday morning.

WEST DUNDEE, IL — Police are urging motorists to avoid the area of Route 31 and Miller Road south of Algonquin Monday morning following a fatal collision.

Traffic is not being allowed through the intersection of Route 31 and Miller Road following the fatality, authorities said at about 7:30 a.m. Monday. The Kane County Sheriff's Office is at the scene, and it's unclear how long traffic will be re-routed, police said.

A male pedestrian, who was killed in the incident, appears to have been hit by several vehicles, according to police.

It's unclear at this point what his approximate age is, and his identity is not being publicly released, said Kane County Undersheriff Amy Johnson.

Police are not investigating the collision as a hit-and-run, and those involved in the collision "are still on the scene and cooperating with the investigation," Johnson said. The sheriff's office has its drone at the scene, which will be used in the investigation, and detectives at the scene are interviewing several witnesses.
