Police Search For Bank Robber Following Heist In NW Suburbs
The man is accused of holding up a bank in Barrington on Tuesday afternoon.

BARRINGTON, IL — Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a bank in Barrington Tuesday afternoon.
The bank robbery happened at about 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Chase Bank at 130 W. Northwest Highway in Barrington, according to a news release from the Federal Bureau of Investigations in Chicago.
The robber is described as being a Black man between 50 and 55 years old. He has a thin build and was between 5-feet 6-inches and 5-feet 8-inches tall.

Authorities say he made a "verbal demand" for money. He was wearing a black, long-sleeved, hooded sweatshirt or jacket and black baggy sweatpants or jeans. He was also wearing blue gym shorts with white shoelaces and soles, sunglasses and a dark facial covering.
No one was injured in the incident, and the robber is still on the lam, authorities said Wednesday.
