ALGONQUIN AND LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Summer festivals will be in full swing this weekend in and around Algonquin and Lake in the Hills.
Here are a couple things that will be happening this weekend in the Algonquin and Lake in the Hills area:
Pride Walk and Social, Downtown Crystal Lake
When: June 2, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Downtown Crystal Lake
What: Dress in your most colorful clothing and meet at William Street and and Crystal Lake Avenue at 11 a.m. and walk to Depot Park. Those stopping out can stay at the park and socialize, shop the craft fair supporting LGBTQ+ owned businesses and makers, and connect with non-profits and community resources.

Gilberts Community Days 2024
When: May 30 to June 2
Where: Town Square Park,
What: Free festival with live music, carnival, children's theater, reptile show and more.

Elgin Pride Parade & Festival
When: June 1, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Prairie and Grove avenues, Elgin
What: A family-friendly LGBTQ+ PRIDE parade in downtown Elgin followed by a festival with a vendor marketplace and live music at Festival Park.

Crystal Lake Park District Nature Center Reopening
When: June 1, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Crystal Lake Park District Nature Center, 330 N. Main St, Crystal Lake
What: After months of construction and remodeling, the nature center is ready for visitors. The butterfly house is open and this free event will include activities, crafts, guided hikes and more.
