Semi Truck Overturns In Roundabout

MARENGO, IL — A semi-truck overturned in a roundabout in Marengo early Monday, overturning and spilling sand in the roadway.

The collision happened at about 6 a.m. on Monday at the Route 23 and Harmony Road roundabout, according to a news release from the Marengo Fire & Rescue District. When emergency personnel arrived they found the semi lying on its side and blocking the roundabout.

The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin for further evaluation.

The Marengo Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
