Storage Units Damaged, Destroyed In Sunday Blaze

ALGONQUIN, IL — Several units at a storage facility in Algonquin were damaged or destroyed Sunday in a blaze.

The fire broke out at Life Storage, 2301 W. Algonquin Road, Algonquin. According to Shaw Local News Network, an estimated 20 units at the facility were either damaged or destroyed.

Authorities advised residents to avoid the area of Algonquin and Crystal Lake roads Sunday afternoon as firefighters battled the blaze.

"For everyone's safety, please give them space and avoid the area. Your cooperation is crucial," authorities said in a Facebook post at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
