The McHenry County Board will vote Tuesday on speed limit changes on Pyott, McConnell and Spring Grove roads and Bilvin Street.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry County Board will vote Tuesday on whether the speed limit should be reduced on four roadways in the county.
County officials will consider the speed limit reductions on portions of Pyott, McConnell and Spring Grove roads as well as Bilvin Street during the meeting Tuesday night. The county board will vote on the following speed limit changes:
- Reduce the speed limit from 35 mph to 30 mph on Bilvin Street from Route 12 to .37 miles north of Route 12
- Reduce the speed limit from 55 mph to 45 mph on McConnell Road at Lily Pong Road to .1 miles west of Country Club Road near Bull Valley
- Reduce the speed limit from 50 mph to 45 mph on Pyott Road from Willow Street to Oak Street in Lake in the Hills
- Reduce the speed limit from 55 mph to 50 mph on Spring Grove Road from Ringwood to Sunset roads in Spring Grove
The proposed changes come after county officials looked crash reports, conducted speed studies and received feedback on the roadways from residents and law enforcement officials, according to county board documents.
