Transportation impacts everyone. It also impacts our environment and our economy. No matter where you live, play, shop, or work, it’s important to get involved to make sure your voice is heard. There will be multiple opportunities for you to provide feedback throughout this journey. Please visit the project website at mchenrycountymoves2050.com and take the brief engagement survey to show how you move around, and how the system can be improved.
MCDOT will look at all the ways people and goods move in our area and come up with solutions that will make transportation easier for everyone. Their goal is to create an enhanced vision for transportation in our area by building on successes from the previous 2040 plan and identifying new solutions that will provide a wide range of safe, equitable, sustainable, and convenient travel choices in and across our county.

For most users, the county's current transportation system provides access between residences to local businesses and workplaces, commuter rail stations, points of interest, and nearby highways. MCDOT is always looking for ways to improve our county's system to make sure it’s a safe and reliable network for all users, both individually for each mode and together as a full transportation system.
With your help, MCDOT's focus will be to identify a list of projects and policies that address transportation access, mobility, and needs of McHenry County residents and businesses through 2050. They will work closely with residents and businesses throughout the plan update to make sure the county is heading in the right direction toward their future transportation vision.
